TechWoman Ambassador for the NHHTC

BEI Networks holds several certifications related to women in business and technology including national certifications as a WBENC Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) and Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB). These titles, however, go beyond just the logos on our website; they display our dedication toward helping women realize their potential in predominantly male-driven industries. BEI CEO, Darby Bruno, has made the nurturing and advancement of young women a primary goal of the company, and has become a TechWoman Ambassador for the New Hampshire High Tech Council to help further that objective.

The New Hampshire High Tech Council (NHHTC) is a statewide initiative to bring together members of the technology and engineering industries to collaborate and evolve as needed. Since 1983, The NHHTC has been developing a strong foundation for startup and mature technology companies within the state. Their mission states “we are committed to expanding the tech-driven economy by building partnerships, enhancing workforce skills and knowledge, and shaping public policy.”

A sub-program of the NHHTC is the TechWomen/TechGirls forum, a community of female students focusing in STEM and women mentors currently holding leadership positions in technology companies. The TechWomen Ambassador program allows mentors to speak at schools and events in their local area and make direct connections with the present youth. Job shadowing and career advice are also offered as a benefit to the young women participating in the program.

Last October, Darby Bruno attended the Governor’s Manufacturing Summit as a TechWoman Ambassador representing the corporate side of technology companies. She was a speaker on a panel including women from the non-profit and education sector, as well as female students. The presentation allowed young women interested in the program to gain insight into the events, training, and mentorship offered by TechWomen/TechGirls.

BEI believes in an inclusive workplace no matter the industry. Teaching girls when they are still in school the value of a STEM education and career is essential to growing the diversity and professionalism of the technology sector. BEI is proud to be a member of programs like TechWomen/TechGirls and the NHHTC that make the welfare of women a top priority.
